The Critics' Choice Awards are bestowed annually by the Broadcast Film Critics Association to honor the finest in cinematic achievement. Nominees for 2008 will be selected by written ballots in a week-long voting period and announced in early December. Winners will be revealed at the 14th annual Critics' Choice Awards ceremony on January 8, 2009 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, broadcast live on VH1 Television Network.

Special awards are given out at the discretion of the BFCA Board of Directors.

The following dates apply for the 14th annual CRITICS’ CHOICE AWARDS, honoring the finest in cinematic achievement among 2008 film releases.

December 1, 2008 – Nominating ballots go out to the BFCA members
December 7, 2008 – Deadline for returning nominating ballots
December 9, 2008 – Critics’ Choice Awards nominees announced
January 5, 2009 – Final ballots go out to the BFCA members
January 7, 2009 – Deadline for returning final ballots
January 8, 2009 – The 14th Annual Critics' Choice Awards on VH1
